You should be able to find every info you need in the following text.
It gives accounts of terrible deeds, which happened in the Olsany
forest near the village of Hermanec. You don’t need to bring any
special equipment or go through complicated calculations, but I’m not
sure about functions of some simpler GPSrs, so better think the search
over beforehand. I’d like to thank Lukas M., counselor at a nearby
summer camp, for the story.
The events decribed in the following story were
never officially
acknowledged and the word about the terrible deeds of Ivan Roubal has
only spread as an urban legend told by the campfires.
Not so long ago, strange things happened in this
forest. Only after
several weird finds in the Trout Brook locality, the police realized
that a run-away mass murderer Ivan Roubal (infamous for really loving
his job) was hiding in the Czech Canada region. Everything started very
inconspicuously. There was a summer camp in progress at the Trout
Brook, and one of the older boys was approaching the camp during a
night game. He was crawling through the wood, and he suddenly touched
something that was neither a branch nor a pine. It was hard and solid
and felt like an animal lower jaw. He took it with him and looked
forward to scaring his younger friends with it the next day. Imagine
his terror in the morning, when he saw that it was a human jaw and that
it had probably been sawed off with an ordinary one-handed saw. Later
on, the police found splinters of human bone and, in a nearby pond, the
rest of the skull impaled on a thigh-bone. The experts claimed that the
remains dated back to the landing of parachutists towards the end of
the World War II. However, the following summer the campers found two
golden teeth in the Trout Brook and a chest marked as “Hobby Kit”, full
of instruments of torture covered with blood. The police had to re-open
the investigation. After a detailed search of the area, four mutilated
human bodies were found in a log cabin somewhere between Olsany and
Suchdol. There was no doubt about the identity of the murderer then.
One of the victims was identified, thanks to a DNA analysis, as Joachim
Henke, an Austrian salesman of wood-cutting machninery, who had gone
missing two years before.
Since the others could not be identified, the
investigator Zavis
Holzhacken set the case aside. An unknown witness claimed that Roubal
was living abroad. Yet the truth is that, even today, you can still
come across fresh remains of Roubal’s work in Czech Canada, and the
woods by the Trout Brook are not safe.
When an unnamed journalist tried to get more
information from a young
officer, who had searched one of the places of Roubal’s activity, he
was told that the officer had quit the police work, because he felt
that he did not have the stomach to do it. The former officer, still
unemployed, has become a notorious drunk. After a lot of persuasion and
several glasses of home-made “slivovice“, he took an old notebook out
of the closet and gave it to the journalist.
“Here you are and mess
with that filth yourself.”
Apart from common cases such as theft of tractors,
potatoes and dogs,
there was a description of a terrible place on the north-west corner of
the Olsany forest near Hermanec, where Roubal liked to torture his
victims. There is a big old oak-tree, near which several corpses were
found. The journalist’s notes show that he was particularly interested
in a 50 cm thigh-bone with an engraved inscription:
“260 bones, 260°.”
Other notes prove that the journalist wanted to see
the place with his
own eyes. However, he has not been seen since, and Holzhacken does not
want to open the case again, saying that there is no evidence the
journalist even arrived at the region. The truth is still out there. It
may be you who will reveal the truth about the stay of Ivan Roubal in
the woods of Czech Canada. We wish you good luck and safe return! :-)
